LG E900 Windows Phone 7 leaked photos

Photos of LG's E900 Windows Phone 7 device have leaked and Android.com.pl has the details. You can see the phone in action in the video above.
The E900 sports the same fast 1GHz Snapdragon QSD8650 processor as the Droid Incredible and HTC EVO 4G. It looks like an HTC phone with its sleek casing and usual detailing like a camera button and 3.5mm headphone jack. The 3.7" capacitive TFT LCD screen looks very nice, but not too big.

LG says Windows Phone 7 will outperform rivals

LG apparently believes strongly in Windows Phone 7. The company says it will be the first manufacturer to launch a Windows Phone 7 phone. European models will be in stores in October and US models will hit a month later. Interestingly, the Windows Phones will not be available in Korea until sometime next year.
The European WP7 LG phones will sport a 3.8" display while the US models will include a slideout QWERTY keyboard.

Microsoft hasn't really jumped back into the smartphone game just yet (they technically never left, but Windows Mobile 6.5 seems ancient by now), and one writer seems to be betting that RIM has something to worry about.

The Telegraph in the UK has a nice prereview of Windows Phone 7, and they seem impressed. Microsoft has missed a cycle in the smartphone area and Windows Phone 7 could bring them back into the mix in a big way. Windows Mobile used to be a dominant platform (especially in Asia) but they got taken over by RIM, Apple, and now Google.

HP is moving full steam ahead with its plans for Palm's OS. Despite recently saying that Palm may become a "sub-brand," the company is moving ahead with plans to put webOS on a variety of devices including smartphones, and netbooks.

Microsoft dumps Kin

Well that was fast. Just weeks after the official launch of Microsoft's Kin line of phones, it looks like the company is pulling the plug. engadget is reporting that Andy Lees has "rolled Kin into the Windows Phone 7 team" and canceled the existing product's European launch.
