Sprint announced early in the year that it would soon begin offering the Sony Ericsson T608, the first CDMA mobile phone with Bluetooth. However, Sony Ericsson announced it was going to stop all development of CDMA phones so it could concentrate on GSM/GPRS ones. This caused a major delay in the debut of the T608 on Sprint PCS network. In calling Sprint, the customer service representative told me they would debut it, but did not know when.
Now Brighthand is rerporting there is word from Sprint PCS Info that Sprint is now offering the T608. This finally gives Sprint customers with Bluetooth-enabled handhelds the option of buying a mobile phone they can use to wirelessly connect to the Internet.
The T608 is available in limited quantities and must be ordered by phone 1-866-PCS-AUTO from Sprint. In addition, the T608 is not available with Sprint service plans providing unlimited data access. The most available is 3 MB per month.
The pricetag for the T608 is $199.99.
