Sony Ericsson's Xperia X1 may not always run Windows Mobile
News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - September 16, 2008

Reuters is reporting that the Xperia X1 may not always run Windows Mobile in future models of the smartphone. If true, that would be another blow to Microsoft's Windows Mobile platform. We already got word that RIM has now moved ahead of Microsoft in the smartphone OS marketshare race. If Sony Ericsson bails on Windows Mobile that could make a nice dent in Microsoft's platform.

"Future Sony Ericsson phones launched under its new Xperia brand may not be based on Microsoft Windows, the handset maker said at the launch of its digital marketing campaign for the Xperia X1 on Monday."
