Palm introduces the Palm Pre running its own webOS
News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - January 08, 2009

Palm has introduced the new Palm Pre. The Palm Pre runs its own WebOS operating system and will run on the Sprint network sometime in the first part of 2009. No pricing info is available yet.

The Palm Pre is a touchscreen handset with a 3.1-inch 320 x 480 multitouch display. It has a rollerball and a touch screen. A slide out full QWERTY keyboard is available as well. If you flip the phone on its side, it gives you widescreen view via its accelerometer.

The Pre runs Palm's webOS platform. Palm claims the Pre gives you laptop-style power. The Pre will suppert EV-DO Rev. A, 802.11b/g WiFi, GPS, and Bluetooth with A2DP.

The Pre sports 8GB of built-in flash storage and a 3 megapixel camera.

The Pre also comes with a wireless charging dock that has magnets to align your phone automatically so you can charge while you use the Pre. Very cool!
