CAMBRIDGE, MA, U.S.A. – February 11, 2010 – SYWARE, Inc., a leading developer of mobile database development tools for business and personal productivity, today announced the world wide release of Visual CE 12, a major new release of its award winning mobile database development tool. The new release significantly extends the capabilities of Visual CE and its drag-and-drop desktop development environment, which enables both business professionals and developers to easily create Windows Mobile based applications with little or no programming.

Macro Debugger

Visual CE now includes a macro debugger that enables developers to quickly and easily identify errors in their macros. From the desktop, the developer can "look into" the macros as they run on the handheld. A macro can be paused at any step (so variables and table columns can be viewed) and then be resumed or stepped through its execution.

True Tabs

Forms can now have a set of tabs. Using tabs, the developer can group controls into categories and give users quick access to each group.

Increased Capabilities

In addition, Visual CE 12 includes a wide range of new functionality, such as:

Macros execute faster
Data in grids and list mode can be modified in place
The synchronizer allows a single handheld to synchronize to more than one Access database.
GO TO's in macros
Header line control in import and export
More GPS functions

Visual CE 12 applications can be created for any Microsoft Windows Mobile, Windows CE, Pocket PC, Smartphone, or Pocket PC Phone Edition handheld. Visual CE Personal Edition, with full forms design, relational database, and synchronization capabilities, is priced at $129. Visual CE Professional Edition, which includes all the features of the Personal Edition as well as royalty-free distribution rights, is priced at $399.
